During our battle, I often wrote “With the prayers and support of all friends, family and unknown prayer warriors… Jesse will win this fight!”

Today I write:

“We will continue to be eternally grateful for the love, prayers and support of our friends, family & unknown prayer warriors. Jesse did not win the battle with cancer but he did receive the gift of Heaven! His mind, body and spirit are healed and now he awaits us there.  Thank you, Jesus, for your sacrifice and promise of eternal life.”

Throughout Jesse’s Journey a multitude of scriptures were shared and I’ve listed them below with hopes to bless you.

Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to me and I will answer…” was the first bible verse I memorized as I shared God’s word with our children. It became my staple prayer and often times I would see those numbers 333 during the day…the time on  the clock, price of items at the store, gas prices at that time… So many reminders for me “Call out to the Lord for answers, give thanks, receive peace.”  Often times, my typed signature will include my favorite number. ~Ingrid <333

April 3, 2012, Jesse told me his favorite Bible verse:

Philippians 4:13 ~ For I can do all things in Christ, who strengthens me.

In February of 2013, Jesse got his first tattoo with his favorite scripture written around a Springfield 30-06 bullet primer end.

Trusting in God is not about a guarantee that life will be perfect or ‘go our way’.  It’s knowing that God’s way is perfect, that He will not forsake us, and that we can trust His plans for us in all things.

I drew strength & peace from the following verses, as I cared for our son, not knowing what his future held:

2 Thessalonians 3:16 ~ Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

Romans 15:13 ~ May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 26:3 ~ He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn

Isaiah 41:10 ~ Do not fear, for I AM with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I Am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

John 14:27 ~ Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

Philippians 4:6 ~ Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Hebrews 13:5 & 6 ~ “…for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor forsake you.” so that we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.”

Colossians 3:15-17 ~ And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 ~ 16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, 17 comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say.

Jeremiah 29:11 ~ “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Micah 7:7 ~ But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.

Isaiah 40:29-31 ~ He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.

Hebrews 10:23-24 ~ 23 Now we can look forward to the salvation God has promised us. There is no longer any room for doubt, and we can tell others that salvation is ours, for there is no question that he will do what he says. 24 In response to all he has done for us, let us outdo each other in being helpful and kind to each other and in doing good.

Hebrews 11:1 ~ Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Romans 8:28 ~ We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Psalm 13:5&6 ~ But I have trusted in Your loving kindness; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.

Psalm 18:30 ~ As for God, His way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises are true. He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection.

Psalm 46:1 ~ Be still, and know that I am God.

Psalm 100:5 ~ For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.

Proverbs 3:5 ~ Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.

1 Chronicles 29:11-13 ~ Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone. Now therefore, our God, we thank you, and praise Your glorious name.”

Titus 2:7-8 ~ 7 In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness 8 and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.

Luke 1:37 ~ For nothing is impossible with God.

~ God Offers Comfort so that We can Comfort Others ~

2 Corinthians 1:3-7&11 ~ 3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 5 For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. 6 Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. 7 We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us…11 And you are helping us by praying for us. Then many people will give thanks because God has graciously answered so many prayers for (Jesse’s health) our safety.

~ Jesse’s Funeral ~

Pastor Gerald eloquently intertwined our faith with the last 18 years of Jesse’s life. He explained that our family built its foundation on a rock, as quoted in:

Matthew 7:24-27 ~ 24 Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.
