Las Vegas ~ Relay for Life

Jesse’s ‘bro’, Siam, and his friends walked the Relay for Life last night for the American Cancer Society. They designed the shirts in honor of Jesse… Such special kids!

Here are 5 of the 54 Silverado High School kids wearing Jesse’s name and number.

LOVE them!! ❤

Jesse lives on in our hearts and memories. Having these kids dedicate their walk to Jesse was heart warming yet heart breaking, because Jesse is their age and grade and he should be experiencing the emotions of the end of senior year like them. I’m proud of these kids for bringing attention to the fact that cancer doesn’t discriminate, and for raising money for a cure. Please Jesus, let there be a cure in our life time. The motto of the walk was “cancer doesn’t sleep”. So Siam made it his mission to make sure no one slept. If they did, he entered their tent and yelled “cancer doesn’t sleep, so why should we?!” God bless them.

Thank you friends of Jesse, sons and daughters of God, for doing unselfishly the works of the Lord, the Relay of Life, so others may live. O Lord, we have gathered together to worship you. Holy Spirit, we ask that you be our guide. May we never become so distracted by time and planning and details that we miss your leading in these precious times. May all that we do bring great glory to you and the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior. Gracious God, Jesus promised his disciples, Jesse, Scott, Ingrid, Savannah, Jesse’s friends, all of us the gift of the Holy Spirit, a gift that remains as powerful and transformative to day as it was on the first Pentecost. With generous and thankful hearts, we offer our time, our gifts, our talents, but most of all our hearts.
Our congregation prayed for Jesse and you all today and always. We love you.
    In Christ, hermann
