On Tuesday, February 7th, Jesse had a safe flight from Hurley Medical Center but had a difficult transition to the new hospital. He was admitted to the adult ICU for 4 days and was more sick than we realized. The chemo he endured was more intense than his kidneys could handle which has caused several complications. Initially, we thought kidney dialysis was the needed option for his kidney failure but afer much consultation it was determined that a dialysis would not actually filter the residual chemo from his body which is the cause of his current medical issues. So we opted to increase fluids and add another med. Jesse has been bed ridden, fighting infection, having difficulty swallowing & speaking. I thank God for the many teams of doctors that have been testing & evaluating him. Praise the Lord that Jesse’s blood clot on his brain is now gone!! Also, that Pastor Gerald flew up from North Carolina to support our family. Specific prayers are for Methotrexate (chemo) level, infections and mouth sores to disappear.
On Friday, February 10th, Jesse was transferred to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, Pediatric Oncology Unit. After 3 hours of mayhem which included difficulty breathing, low oxygen levels, pain, extreme agitation & anxiousness, he was transferred to the Pediatric ICU. There he is being provided concentrated levels of oxygen, blood transfusions and continuous monitoring. The STAT x-ray revealed pneumonia. Jesse is afraid, anxious & angry. Please pray specifically for total healing of lungs, kidneys, colon and brain. Blessing… Scott & I were given a Ronald McDonald House room in the hospital for the weekend.
Your continued love, prayers & support are priceless.
